Ken Poyner
ART THEORY
There is an attempt to map his subject matter to specific days, but it fails. The lack of regularity is maddening. We teach children mathematics and the periodic table, only to have an artist plow through and paint random topics at random times. Some of us suspect that, if we reach deep, there will be a pattern; others believe he is hopelessly without periodicity. We abide two schools of causality: each considers the other heretical. At art sales, there is an effort by each sect to find pieces that commend their reasoning. Sometimes the sects haggle over the same piece.
About the writer:
Ken Poyner has eleven available collections of poetry, flash fiction and micro-fiction, the latest The Lechery of Fish Tuners, drabbles. He has suffered ten Pushcart nominations without a win and has taught on an NEA Poets in the Schools grant. He spent 33 years herding computers. He is married to a world class female powerlifter, who is still setting raw world records.
