what can I afford
to be rid of
even in a maximalist existential rendering of the Earth trash crisis
I’m finding trouble at the editor’s cutting board:
which of my nine identical knives
inside the block
shall I disturb
to cut the onion?
still, the layers
open
and lay
dead–
wings of the house
fly
