Gery Kempczynski

Selected Images

With paintings being displayed in homes, city community centers, and hospitals across the United States, Gery Kempczynski, a returning artist to O:JA&L (Lagniappe, July 2, 2018), is a seasoned professional artist focusing on color, texture, nonfigurative landscapes, and abstract art. Exhibitions include Beverly Art Alliance venues, Arlington Heights Northwest Community Hospital, and The Village of Evergreen Park Center.

“When I come to my canvas, I feel free to place brush on canvas and color is set to my mood. As I paint, the production begins to uncover which direction this work will take. My abstracted landscapes allow viewers to find much more in each scene than a simple mountain or a tree, but allow them instead continually to find within my work special tokens and emblems to enjoy for a lifetime.”

Reprise:

In July of 2018 O:JA&L published Lagniappe by Gery Kempczynski in a place of prominence as focusing art for an important literary work. In December of 2019, the O:JA&L website collapsed for unknown reasons and 5% of content on the site was irretrievably lost. Lagniappe along with the literary work it informed were among the items that were regrettably unrecoverable. We revive it here for the benefit of our audience as part of the current art feature.
