U2

Serenade by Cassandra Lynn Miller

They ask me to join U2 on bass. I haven’t played bass much, but they’re happy with my progress in the rehearsal studio. It’s an incredible thrill to play the bassline to ‘I still haven’t found what I’m looking for’ in front of tens of thousands. Pretty soon, I have my own solo gigs. Skip to my final concert, and I merge into an image of myself in a stained-glass window, high up, to the side of the stage, which is now empty. The image is about three metres wide. It’s me, except I have blue eyes and look more like Daniel Craig. In the last moment, I disappear.
