About the writer:
LARRY D. THOMAS, the 2008 Texas Poet Laureate and a member of the Texas Institute of Letters, has published twenty-three print collections of poetry. Among the awards he has received for his poetry are two Western Heritage Wrangler Awards (National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum), the Spur Award (Western Writers of America), the Violet Crown Book Award (Writers’ League of Texas) and two Texas Review Poetry Prizes. His poetry collection titled Stark Beauty was nominated for the 2007 Poets’ Prize (Nicholas Roerich Museum).
