About the writer:
Having worked in construction and journalism, Ben Jacques found his calling as a professor of English. For 24 years he taught literature and writing at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. He has written numerous essays and articles for newspapers and magazines, including the Boston Globe, the Christian Science Monitor, Maine Sunday Telegram and Americas Magazine. He is the author of two books, including If the Shoe Fits: Stories of Stoneham, Then & Now, a collection of essays on the history and culture of his town.
